My family...
Hi there!
After many of your support and advices from my first blog, I’m here again. Today, I’m going to talk about the NCF (New Chinatown Foundation) which I think brings people together, from strangers to a big family.

Have you ever heard about the NCF? If not, you're definitely wondering what is it? Well, let me give you the answer. The NCF is a non-profit organisation created in 2018 by Mr Jean-Paul Lam with the objective of reinventing the Chinatown of our paradise island. By now, the NCF has done many changes in Chinatown: Marvelous mural paintings, eco-friendly bins, the biggest dragon Tangloon made from the recycled plastic bottles, social events and many more.

You may be wondering why am I interested in this NGO at my young age? In 2018, I still remember the first time that I went to help them in their activities. It was to have fun with my friends and to achieve extra-curricular activities for school. Besides, I could make good use of my time there, especially during the school holidays or else I would have stayed at home, in front of a screen all day and doing nothing fruitful.

With time, I became an active volunteer as it dawned upon me that the NCF inspires me with trust, motivation, belief and commitment. Every project undertaken had a good impact on the society and this reinforces their devotion towards their aim. Therefore, I am always keen to find some time to help them and in turn they help me to develop myself into a good citizen and a leader of tomorrow.

Family may not always be defined as people related by blood but can be defined as people related by heart. I consider the NCF as my another family as in every ups and downs, we are here to help each other. As Brad Henry says, “families are the compass that guides us. They are the inspiration to reach great heights, and our comfort when we occasionally falter.“
I hope that this blog has enlightened your views about the NCF and what a family is from my point of view. Love you and don’t forget to comment and share the blog.
